Sketching With Him

Here’s the first page of my new sketchbook..

I’ve always wanted to share my sketches and doodles with all my friends, but anytime that I did I would get this feeling that they were just being polite and noding in approval  just so they didn’t hurt my feelings; which actually ends up feeling worse than some negative criticism would. As a result I ended up sketching in secret so that I would avoid this feeling altogether… but there were some people that actually cared for my art and asked me about it because they were artists themselves; maybe not with the same medium as me but certainly with tools of their own.

A bond is created with these people and there’s this emotional level that you share with them once they take a peek at your inner feelings and thoughts. Whether it’s a sketch or a song, it takes the same amount of  heart to portray what you were feeling at that moment. It makes the people that are looking or listening feel the same emotions. This connection is better than any feeling I can describe. I think of it as going to watch a film with some mates. When you leave the cinema, you all have the same emotional level because you just spent hours together watching the same exact thing.

So in that spirit, this is going to be a place where I post my emotions and thoughts in the form of sketches and notes for anyone to read and comment on them. All for the sake of love, art, and the light that moves all around us.
