I’m Afraid You’re Wrong

Brother, I’m scared!

They said I’d be spared but, from you tell me, I should be prepared.. The worst is yet to come and I’ve since succumb to these thoughts and ideas and become my worst fears.

You see, they told me, once upon a time, that if I said this lovely rhyme that I would be saved but– I’ve not been well behaved and now you tell me that it actually matters and that pretty much shatters my plans from here on end to give in to all and, by grace, ascend!

Now, what am I to do? I haven’t got a clue, for all they said was sour from atop their dull tower and they’ve got all the power. I can’t try to fight them; they would just condemn my very being here and, to the least of these, I would adhere.

Please help me now and I promise not just to vow!

I swear, I’d give it all and go, to follow Him, who I don’t really know so I could grow into this man I know I’ll be if you could just set me free!

So, brother, while I wait for you to say; I’ll walk down this dark path to display and pray to my sweet Lord, that he is all I know.

He’ll forever be adored and never more ignored!

This I promise with all of my word.
