As Is Life

Forgiveness is one of the most loving acts I can imagine these days. To really forgive is difficult. And, for some, it’s hard to even imagine…

I’ve been reading a book called ‘Sex God’ by Rob Bell and he talks about love in a way that I had never thought of it before.

He talks about a ritual that is done in Israel to consummate a marriage and what it all really means.

How two separate people join to become one.

So I really thought about that and what it means to be ‘one’ with someone; they give their life to you and you give yours to them.

It’s a powerful love; one that transcends our lust and sexual appetite (because those things aren’t what’s important).

I won’t fully know what this means until I do get married, but those plans are not in my immediate future.

I wonder if anyone even thinks about love in this way.

I wonder if we’ve replaced the word love with lust..
